    Arup Neogi leads photonics research at UESTC, a US-sanctioned Chinese university

    Arup Neogi, an India-born US citizen and photonics specialist, leads a research team at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in Chengdu exploring the interconnection between light and sound. The university, which has one of China's top electronics and communication programmes, has been on the US entity list. Neogi told Chinese state media "Science has no borders."

    A 57-year-old homeless person has lived on the porch of a London mansion linked to Xu Jiayin for nearly three years. The property was purchased in 2020 through Zhang Songqiao's family office for £210 million, but the actual buyer was Evergrande founder Xu Jiayin, with his wife Ding Yumei as the beneficial owner via a BVI-registered company.
